Life Without Purpose and Change is a Life Unfulfilled

Richard Leider once said, “The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose.”

When you think of the word “purpose”, think about what automatically comes to mind. The term itself means “The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.” The purpose of a book is to read and gain knowledge. The purpose of a ladder is to climb and reach a certain point.  In a more general perspective, we as well have a reasoning of why we were created in this world. There’s beauty in knowing we are embarking a path that takes having a reason to keep us going. The key to survive in this dunya to get to the final home is having persistence. With that is gaining purpose through our roles by realizing how much of an impact we really.

The reason of our existence is more than just living to live, it is discovering our capabilities to serve humanity. It is important to instill that thought in our everyday lives, whether it is through our passions, careers, or anything that gains happiness and serenity. Sometimes people won’t understand the steps you’re taking to get there, but that shouldn’t stop you from striving. The simple thought of knowing that we are capable of becoming who we strive to be and who we want to meet should be enough.

Something that I try to remind myself is without stumbles, we wouldn’t know how to rise. Our duty in this world is to become representations of social change but most importantly in our Muslim communities. Whether it is by our careers, our passions, or the list of goals we strive to reach in order to live a purposeful life. The aim is to be examples to future generations. We are currently living in a time where we think humanity is dead, when it is us that has the power to change that. It should never decrease our abilities to be the change we want to see.

If the path we choose to take brings inner peace and service for others, you are marking footprints. We should let those footprints become legacies by being driven and persistent in everything that we do. Never seek for praise from the creation when the efforts are seen by the Creator. It is crucial to make sure our intentions are pure at all times. Let the motivation be to implement by doing things for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. The reason of our existence is only complex if we make it, but in fact it is merely simple.
